Makes about 6 dozen cookies
Ingredients
1 (17.5 ounce) package Pillsbury® Sugar Cookie Mix
2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1/2 cupbutter, softened*
1 large egg
1 teaspoonvanilla extract
2 egg white, beaten until foamy
1 1/2 cupsfinely chopped pecans
3/4 cupSmucker's® Orchard's Finest™ Pacific Mountain Strawberry Preserves, or any flavor Orchard's Finest Preserve

Directions
1.Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper, if desired.
2.Combine cookie mix, flour, softened butter, egg and vanilla in medium bowl. Mix with spoon until soft dough is formed.
3.Use level measuring teaspoon of dough to make 3/4-inch balls. Dip into egg whites, then roll in pecans. Place on prepared cookie sheet. Make a rounded indentation in the center of each cookie.
4.Bake 10 minutes. Remake rounded indentation in cookie. Fill with 1/2 teaspoon preserves. Bake an additional 2 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes. Transfer to wire rack. Cool completely.

Ingredients
3/4 stickCrisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
1/2 cupfirmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cupsugar
2 tablespoonsmilk
1 tablespoonvanilla extract
1 large egg
2 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoonsalt
3/4 teaspoonbaking soda
3/4 cupcrushed peppermint candy canes or peppermint hard candies, divided

Directions
1.Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.Beat shortening, brown sugar, sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl of electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Mix into shortening mixture at low speed just until blended. Stir in 1/2 cup crushed candy. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
3.Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately sprinkle each cookie with about 1/4 teaspoon crushed candy. Cool 2 minutes. Remove to rack to cool completely.
4.To have enough crushed candy for this recipe, use 9 medium candy canes or 36 peppermint hard candies.
