This is dead serious.

This guy Zack Brown (not Zac Brown) put up a (joke) Kickstarter where he asked for a total goal of $10 so he could make a potato salad.

HE ENDED UP GETTING $70,000! (When I checked yesterday, he was up to $28,000.)

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!!!

It may be his good business tactics or his incentives to people who donated.

Pledge $1 or more: You will get a thank-you posted to our website and I will say your name out loud while making the potato salad.

Pledge $20 or more: Receive a potato salad-themed haiku written by me, your name carved into a potato that will be used in the potato salad, a signed jar of mayonnaise, the potato salad recipe, hang out in the kitchen with me while I make the potato salad, choose a potato-salad-appropriate ingredient to add to the potato salad, receive a bite of the potato salad, a photo of me making the potato salad, a thank-you posted to our website, and I will say your name out loud while making the potato salad.

You're probably asking why he even did this and just didn't spend his own $10? He did an interview with Buzzfeed.

I’ve always enjoyed potato salad at Memorial Day parties and Labor Day parties. Early this week someone asked if I’d ever made potato salad and I couldn’t say that I had. So I turned to Kickstarter to change that.
