Country Quickie !

Here's a quick look at what stories are making headlines out of Nashville.  Martina McBride will join in the celebration of Aretha Franklin's legacy at ....this year's 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.  Joining McBride will be Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch and Jennifer Hudson.  There will be individual and collective performances.  Franklin will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and Legend Award!

Jason Aldean's CD "My Kinda Party" is #1 on the Billboard Country Album Charts....bumping Taylor Swift from that spot....Yayyyyy!!!!!    After Swift at #2....#3 is Lady A's "Need You Now",   #4 is Zac Brown Band's "You Get What You Give", and Rascal Flatts "Nothing Like This."

Also of note, the JaneDear Girls self-titled debut CD is at #10 this week.

CMT will launch a new music competition called CMT's Next Superstar!  Contestants will try to impress celebrity guests each week through a series of music business related "challenges."  The show starts in April.
