Keith Anderson has a song called “I Still Miss You.” It’s a song about loss. Whether it’s the loss of a relationship or the loss of a friend or family member, it’s a song that will always stand out to me.

It’s nothing that anybody ever wants to talk about. It’s literally a very depressing subject. But at one point or another, it’s something that every person with a heart has to deal with.

It was popular around the time that my best friend committed suicide. That was six years ago today, and it still plagues me.

It’s amazing to me that a song written thousands of miles away can relate to me so much. And the thing about it is that it relates to millions of other people too.

When we write these blogs for this website, we are supposed to write about things that are important to us. That’s one of the biggest things going on in my life today. Chances are, you’re missing somebody too. In the song he says, “I don’t know how to do this.” Nobody does. Nobody has a perfect answer to dealing with loss. They do what works for them.

So here’s what works for me. I play some music. I think about the person that I miss. Sometimes I cry a little. I get it out of my system, and I move on.

I know it's sad, but if it helps, here are some songs that have always helped me.
