The Buffalo Sabres' season is right around the corner and crews are working around the clock to get the new Sabres' locker room ready for the home opener on October 14th against the Carolina Hurricanes.

We took these photos showing the progress being made. The main locker room area is a larger circular room and each locker will have its own ventilation system. There are new trainers rooms, equipment rooms, and what appears to be a new media room for post game interviews.

Heading down to the lockerrooms after Monday night's preseason win over Carolina - there have been so many changes I wasn't sure where I was or where to turn.  They've added walls, removed walls, doors and hallways have been moved, restrooms have been relocated.

I spoke with Sabres forward Nathan Gerbe who said he has yet to see what the new lockerroom looks like and that he doesn't want to see it until it'd done.  He wants to be surprised.

After touring the area and looking at the photos - they really don't capture the size of the project.  This is going to be an incredible showplace for the rest of the National Hockey League and the envy of opposing players around the league.  I can't wait to see the finished result.
