Cuomo Signs Executive Order To Prepay Your Taxes…If You Think The New Tax Bill Will Effect Them

The new tax plan in the United States was passed last week capping the deductibility of state and local taxes at $10,000. Cuomo claims that THIS  will raise property taxes and reducing home values in New York and in states across the country. He took to Facebook to make an announcement:

Congress just passed a tax bill that drastically limits the ability to deduct state and local taxes beginning on January 1. This move will have a devastating effect on thousands of New York homeowners.

 

That’s why I have signed an emergency Executive Order that will allow New Yorkers to pre-pay next year’s property taxes this year, before the new tax law takes effect. Payments must be postmarked by December 31.

 

Check with your local government and school district to see if you are eligible for to make an early payment. The deadline is December 31, so you must act quickly.
