Again this year Josh and I were honored to be Food Judges at the 29th annual Taste of Buffalo.  It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it.  We love eating, so we're well qualified.

More than 50 restaurants represented, plus new this year - food trucks!  Oh, where to begin?  It's not a mad scramble when you're a Food Judge.  The organizers actually give us assignments so that all of the vendors are covered and if something along the way catches our eye, we can sample that too.

In the end, one of my favorites of this year's "Taste" was Eddie Ryan's Pot Roast Sandwich, the winner of the Chairman's Award.  And one of the items I tried after I heard so many people rave about it was Fat Bob's Smokehouse Macaroni and Cheese.  Come on, mac and cheese?  How good could that be?  I've been dreaming about it ever since.  It won the Children's Choice Award, but you don't have to be a kid to love it.

Voted this year's Best Overall Item was Orazio's Restaurant Brasciole Sliders with Sauce and Cheese.

Check out a sample of some of the items we checked out at the 2012 Taste of Buffalo.
