Today is election day and polls in Erie County are open until 9 tonight. The most closely contested race in Erie County is the one for County Executive. It’s been a nasty campaign between Chris Collins and Mark Polencarz. It's considered a dead heat.
Pendleton Crash Victim Dies
One of the victims of a crash in Pendleton on Sunday has died. 62-year old Shirley Printup of East Amherst died at ECMC. A 90-year old passenger is in critical condition. The other driver was treated and released. It happened at Townline and Mapleton Roads.
Fatal Fire In Riverside
A fatal fire last night in the city. Buffalo firefighters needed about an hour to put out a blaze that started in the attic of a house on Briggs Avenue off Tonawanda Street. A man who lived there and his dog died in that fire.
Tourette Syndrome Cases at LeRoy Schools
Officials with Leroy Central Schools are working the state health department to determine why an unusually high number of students are showing signs of Tourette syndrome. They’re trying to determine if it might have something to do with diet or medication or even something inside the school that may be causing it. The students affected by it are not a danger to other students because it’s not communicable.
Bills Looking For Kicker
The Bills may be in the market for a new kicker. Rian Lindell injured his shoulder making a tackle during a kickoff return against the Jets and coach Chan Gailey described the injury as bad. Lindell could be out of the lineup 4 to 6 weeks. They’ll make a decision by tomorrow who to bring in.
