Raymond Walter is the winner of the special election in the 148th State Assembly district. Paul Dyster is re-elected mayor in Niagara Falls Michael Tucker gets another term as mayor in Lockport Jeffrey Szymanski gets the ok for mayor in Lackawanna Town supervisors – Caruana in Tonawanda, Fudoli in Lancaster, Hartzell in Clarence, Holtz in Cheektowaga, Meegan in West Seneca. Cook on Grand Island. The supervisor’s race in Alden will come down to a count of absentee ballots.

The man who killed a state trooper and was the subject of the largest manhunt in state history apparently was planning an escape attempt. He’s been disruptive and uncooperative ever since he arrived and as a result will basically be kept isolated.

    Three suspects and the victim of a Monday home invasion in Riverside are all facing charges. The three suspects are charged with robbery and burglary. The resident was also charged when police found a large amount of cash, marijuana and cocaine in the home on Austin Street.

  • Sabres Need Overtime To Beat Winnipeg

    It was a struggle, but the Sabres found a way to win their third in a row. They finished with four power play goals and one shorthanded, but needed a late goal by Derek Roy to force overtime and that’s where Thomas Vanek scored off a shot by Jason Pominville for a 6 to 5 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Derek Roy led the way with two goals and an assist. Ryan Miller was back in goal and picked up the win. The Sabres stay home to host Ottawa on Friday.
