Dealing With Loss Over The Holiday
As I was headed into the station on Saturday morning, I got a little misty eyed when I heard a woman request “He Stopped Loving Her Today” by George Jones on Wide Open Country. She said she begins to miss her dad a lot during the holidays and that the song reminded her of him. It was a statement that unfortunately I could relate to.
For most people, the holidays are filled with family and friends. It’s joyful and is the best time of the year. For people who have recently experienced a loss however, the holidays can be a trying time. Whether you’re dealing with a death, a recent breakup, or maybe a soldier who isn’t there to have dinner with the family this year, to be away from the ones you love is always hard to do.
I know that for me, there’s not a lot that doesn’t remind me of my dad on Christmas. It’s a very bittersweet time for me. But I found an article from HealthNewsDigest.com that might just help take away a little bit of the bitterness. I wish you and yours a Happy Holiday.
