Voter turnout for the 2012 election was steady and strong.  As a matter of fact, some people were so determined to get to the polls that they wouldn't even let childbirth or death get in their way!

Galicia Malone was one of those people.  The 21 year old was pregnant and in labor before the polls opened.  However, according to NBC Chicago, Malone wasn't going to let that keep her from casting her vote.

She managed to make it to the polls even after her water had broken and she was experiencing contractions that were 5 minutes apart.

She's not the only one who had to fight through some difficulty to get her vote in.  Ty Houston is a registered nurse who was filling out his absentee ballot when a man across from him at a table nearby appeared to die!

The victim's wife was helping him to fill out the ballot when he stopped answering her questions.  That's when Houston rushed in to help.  He says, "He had no heartbeat and he wasn't breathing. I started CPR, and after a few minutes, he revived and started breathing again. He knew his name and his wife's name."

The first question the man asked when he came to was, "Did I vote?"

Now that is dedication!
