Up for debate: Does this lady have a case on her hands? Or is she simply being ridiculous as people find more things that they can sue about this day and age?

Nearly 20 years after the infamous $2.9 million settlement of woman who was badly burned after she spilled her own hot coffee into her lap at a McDonald’s in New Mexico, it seems that history may just be repeating itself.

Paulette Carr of California says that she badly burned herself while visiting a McDonald's back in 2012. Her injuries at this time are unclear, but she is planning to follow in the footsteps of the infamous woman who sued the fast food giant for the same thing two decades ago.

"The lid for the hot coffee was negligently, carelessly and improperly placed on the coffee cup … resulting in the lid coming off the top of the coffee at the window, causing the hot coffee to spill onto the plaintiff,” Carr said in the lawsuit.

But, I want to know what you think? What does she deserve? Does she deserve anything for an accident? Should she have seen it?
