On Monday morning around 11:15, the a wave of bomb threat phone calls across the country happened, including right here in Western New York. At the Jewish Community Center in Amherst a phone call came in that sounded mechanically altered.

The facility was evacuated immediately and searched of BOTH the Amherst Jewish Community Center on North Forest Road and the Buffalo Jewish Community Center on Delaware. Total, there were about 40 JCC facilities between American and Canada that received threats yesterday. According to the Buffalo News:

There was also a report of dozens of overturned or broken tombstones in a Jewish cemetery near St. Louis. According to an ongoing police investigation, there has been no established connection to the calls to the JCC facilities. All of these recent threats have left those in the Western New York Jewish community troubled with the thought that people would want to target and threaten the lives of others.
