Budwey's is a long-time North Tonawanda grocery store that traces its roots to 1922 when Saltonia Budwey arrived from Lebanon and opened the first store on Oliver Street.  Her son James took over the store in 1936 and after a tour of duty in Vietnam, the current owner Frank Budwey took over in 1971.

Since that first store on Oliver Street the store has moved to locations on Rumbold Avenue, then to Division Street.  They're famous for their Old World Sausage recipes, Flora's Café serving subs, pizza and wings and an incredible bakery, deli and meat market.

Last year, Frank Budwey announced that he's giving partial ownership to the store's 33 full-time employees and managers.  He plans to remain majority owner until he leaves in 10 years at which time he'll divide his ownership shares among his employees.
