I have really gotten into making things with old unused pallets.  You know the pallets that I'm talking about.  You will often find them out by the road, or around small businesses across Western New York.  What I didn't realize is that there are laws against picking them up at the curb.

I have always gone by the rule that if something was out by the road, you should still ask if the owner of the home or business was really throwing them out.  Today, I found out that once garbage is put to the curb, it becomes the property of the town/village and there are laws against taking it.  So although some people go by the rule that if it's out by the road and it doesn't have a for sale sign on it - it's fair game, you could be fined for taking that stuff!
