What's a domain name?  If you just said that, then you're going to want to read about some of the new changes that are about to take place involving internet addresses.

There is an organization called The Internet Center for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) that determines what internet address names are acceptable and they're about to open up the availability of a lot more of them.

"ICANN hs opened the Internet's naming system to unlease the global human imagination. Today's decision respects the rights of groups to create new Top Level Domains in any language or script. We hope this allows the domain name system to better serve all of mankind," said Rod Beckstrom, President and Chief Executive Officer of ICANN.

So in other words, not all addresses will end in ".com" or ".org" anymore.  They will be able to open it up to things like www.wyrk.buffaloradio and more
