Weekend again!  Instead of wasting a perfectly good weekend on things like cleaning your house or doing the laundry, why not put a little fun in your life!   Tomorrow is Earth Day so why not get out check out Mother Nature’s best!

Tonight head over to the Penn Dixie Site in Hamburg for their Astronomy program.  This program particularly caught my eye when I saw it.  Seriously how many of us actually have a telescope big enough to check out the planets.  I’m betting not too many of us!  Tonight the Penn Dixie Site will have their telescopes focused on the Penn Dixie Skies to view a crescent moon, Venus, Mars, and a variety of other constellations.   Sounds like a neat way to be outside and enjoy the stars.  Telescopes will be available for you to use or if you really want to show off your sweet telescope you’ve had since high school you can always bring that one along too!  No pre-registration is required tonight so just show up and have a great time!  Students, scouts, and the public are all welcomed to attend!  Tonight 7pm check out the Astronomy program at the Penn Dixie Site.

Another great activity for your Earth Day weekend is the Earth Day Celebration at the Tift Nature Preserve tomorrow.  Seriously can you tell a better way to spend Earth Day then to be outside becoming one with nature?  Starting at noon at Tift you can join them for a morning clean-up. (yes Mother Nature needs a hand cleaning up!  She can’t do it all just like your mother!)  Afterwards you can stick around for some earth friendly activities, crafts and even information on your ecological footprint and how you can save energy and resources.  Along with that they will be offering tours of the preserve and fill you in on some of the history of Tift.  By the way these activities are Free and open to everyone!  Join the gang at the Tift Nature Preserve tomorrow from noon until 4pm for their Earth Day Celebration!

Then finally one last great activity for you weekend that will definitely get you outdoors and enjoying natures is the Life Size Wooden Maze in East Aurora.   Yes you read that right there is a life size wooden maze in East Aurora just waiting for you to get lost in!  This activity doesn’t happen all the time either only the 3rd weekend of each month now to September.  Bring the entire family and get lost together as you try to master the maze.  Along with that they will offer a tractor pulled wagon ride and games.  Even better with the weather permitting you can spend time in the bounce house.  This weekend it’s the Life Size Wooden Maze at Fergus Farms on Porterville Road in East Aurora.

So now that I’ve given you some fantastic activities for your weekend I better not see your Facebook post for Monday be “Coach Potato all weekend”!
