Just another day on the job for the Lockport Fire Department.  It was on Memorial Day Monday when a Lockport couple out for a walk heard the distressed cries of a mother duck.  Her 14 ducklings had fallen into a storm drain.

The couple called for help and Lockport firefighters responded.  They pulled back the sewer grate and one of the firefighters climbed in and one by one fished the ducklings out of the drain.

The rescued ducklings were placed in a cardboard box and were eventually reunited with their mom who stayed a short distance away during the whole ordeal.  The couple video taped the rescue, placed it on YouTube and told the whole story in about 30 seconds.
