I grew up in East Aurora and some of my favorite memories are from the winters that we had as kids.

NewYorkUpstate.com released a study of the Most Charming Small Towns to visit in the winter.

East Aurora landed at #7. Nothing against the writers or the other towns, and I am partial to my hometown, but I think it deserved a higher spot.

With the small shops that line Main Street and Vidler's waiting for shoppers under the sparkling Christmas lights and the cute decor to greet you at Fisher Price, East Aurora is like a setting for a movie. As a matter of fact, a few movies have been filmed during the winter in East Aurora!

I can remember walking to the Carolcade to sing with friends and neighbors. Sledding at Hamlin Park and skating in the rink (when they had one at Hamlin Park). The residents of East Aurora go above and beyond with decorating their quaint (and historic) homes for the Holidays.
