Eddie Murphy Backs Out As Oscar’s Host

I’m totally disappointed to hear that Eddie Murphy will not host the Academy Awards after all.  Today Eddie withdrew as host of the show after his creative partner; Brett Ratner resigned as the show’s producers.

"First and foremost I want to say that I completely understand and support each party's decision with regard to a change of producers for this year's Academy Awards ceremony. I was truly looking forward to being a part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I'm sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job."

 I really don’t know the full story of why Brett left; just that he had come under fire about some recent comments.  Bottom line is Eddie Murphy will not host the show if Brett Ratner is not the show producer.

It’s too bad; I was actually looking forward to see Eddie as the host.  I’m thinking now that may never happen.
