Another weekend in summer and another chance to get out and have some fun!

Yesterday I decided to venture out into the country and check the Eden Corn Festival.  Seriously, anything that combines my love for fair food with my love for corn on the cob is a definite must for me this summer!  The fair was pretty packed but there is tons of parking so don’t worry about not finding a spot.  Head out and venture down the aisle of arts and crafts vendors which is really the main entrance to the festival.  I do have to say you have to try one or 2 of the rides.  It might look like you just stepped back into the 80s but they are a lot of fun!  You’ll know what I’m talking about when you see them.  Of course there are tons of games for you to play to try to win yourself some sweet prizes.  We of course had to play I got it!  Let me tell you I was 1 away from winning every time.  I really need to start practicing on my bouncy ball tossing!  Then finally I made sure to taste some of the delicious food!  The corn on the cob was to die for!  (Yes I know it’s the corn Festival and they should make fantastic corn but I’m a tough critic when it comes to corn on the cob!)  There are a ton of activities and live music happening this weekend as well.  Today there’s Festival Queen and Junior Miss Pageant on the Stage and a few softball games.  Then tomorrow there’s the Veteran’s Memorial Service in Veteran’s Park, a Parade followed by the Auto Show, a Chicken and Pork BBQ, live music by the South City Band, and the Corn Bread – Corn Chowder Contest.  Along with all of that make sure you don’t miss the down Home Country Cloggers and West of the Mark Band on Stage.  This year make the Eden Corn Festival a must this summer.
