With the temperatures about to drop close to, if not below, zero the Erie County Water Authority is reminding customers to prepare for the cold temperatures by "trickling their faucets". In an email to customers they asked for homeowners who have "unheated basements, crawl spaces or sections of exposed pipe to trickle their faucets to prevent their pipes from freezing."

The ECWA also stated that if customers need them to service their frozen pipes that there will be a fee charged, so the extra cost of trickling water will probably be better that having to call them or a plumber. You can call customer service at 716-849-8444, or visit them online at www.ecwa.org with any questions regarding this announcement.
