Eva Longoria is opening a steakhouse “for women”.  What does that mean?  From the sounds of things, it’s going to be a steakhouse aimed more at the female consumer.  Why do we need one?  Evidently it’s to “create a feeling of empowerment” among female guests.

Really?  I can’t remember the last time that I walked into a steakhouse and it was filled with only men.  Are they really that uninviting for women as they are?

According to The Calgary Herald Eva’s restaurant will feature things such as dainty plates, a dance floor, and a fashion catwalk.

This could possibly be one of the worse ideas ever in my opinion.  First of all, dainty plates?  Who thinks to themselves, “I sure could go for a tiny little steak!”  Nobody that I know thinks that way!  If you have too much food, do you know what you do with it?  You take it home.  Or you could share it with someone.

A dance floor?  Again, these are two things that don’t go hand in hand.  When you eat steak, the last thing you want to do is get up and dance around.  That would be like having a dance party on Thanksgiving.

A catwalk?  What was the last time you saw a model chewing on a side of beef?  How does a catwalk create a feeling of empowerment for females?  The last thing that anybody wants to think about when they’re eating steak is what they look like.

I have to give her credit for thinking outside the box but unless I’m just not getting it, I don’t think this one was completely thought through.  But then again, I'm just a guy that likes steak houses the way that they are now.  Maybe I'm the one that's way off.
