A little bit about Stella + her fight:

Stella is a strong and brave 11 year old girl who was initially diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March of 2011. Her treatment ended in June. 2013. Sadly after 14 months of being in remission she has relapsed. Roswell Park Cancer Institute says with the relapse there are fewer treatment options. But Stella is a strong and fierce warrior!

Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A L L) is a type of cancer in which the bone marrow makes too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). Stella and her family spend countless hours and endure many procedures and treatments at Roswell Cancer Institute.

As Dory said from Finding Nemo "just keep swimming", this has becomes Stella's motto and inspirational phrase. Think about it... what does it mean deep down? It doesn't mean just keep swimming. It means, when life gets you down and you feel like you can't pull through, just keep trying, just keep hoping, just keep moving, just keep going. Just Keep Swimming.

Stella is a great big sister to Nigel, a loyal friend to many. Stella loves Taylor Swift and hopes one day to meet and sing with Taylor. Stella hopes to reach 5000 “likes” on her Facebook page.  You can help her reach her goal by sharing her page with everyone and encouraging them to “like” her page as well!  https://www.facebook.com/StellaLovesTaylorSwift Show her how #StellaStrong you are!

At some point during almost every cancer warrior’s battle they are in need of a blood product. Anyone wishing to visit the Donation Center at Roswell Park can donate on Stella’s behalf.  Blood Platelets (which provide clotting) can be donated to anyone regardless of blood type. Platelets have a shelf life of only 5 days, so if not used by Stella within 3 days they go to help another patient at Roswell. Whole blood can only be directed to a patient of the same blood type only (Stella is A+) and has a much longer shelf life. Donations made at Roswell can be directed toward Stella or any other patient within their facility.
