Additional Information

The Hoopathon is a fun event and it's all about hula hooping!
It goes from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, July 30 at the The Bidwell Farmer’s Market in the Elmwood Village.
All sizes for everyone to use but please feel free to bring your own hoop and share your tips and tricks.

The competition starts at 10 am with 3 age brackets: adult (18+), young adult (13-17) , child (12 and under),
and this year we have some amazing prizes for the winners!  A NOCO gas card for the final adult, an Elmwood Village Shopping Spree for the victor in the young adult bracket, and the kid’s grand prize is an Ultra Hoops birthday party. Participants pay a small entry fee, $5-$7 for the contest, the proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Infringement Festival. This is an endurance contest so remember to drink plenty of water and plan on moving for a few hours if you're playing to win.

...but wait there’s more! Learn how the hoops are made! Ultra Hoops & Wellness will be
hosting a hoop bead craft table, too. Use hoop tubing to design your own necklace and
decorate your creation with fancy tape (oh my!).

The Hoopathon started as a way to bring people together, encourage them to be to be
active and creative, all while raising money for a good cause.
The inaugural Hoopathon was held at Campbell Student Union at Buffalo State College in 2014.  Hundreds of hoopers came to play fun games and see amazing performances from local hoopers, dancers, and drummers.

The money raised from participants was donated to Roswell Park Cancer Institute and we also gave 110 hoops to the Buffalo public schools in collaboration with The Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo.

The second annual Hoopathon was part of The Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival and helped raise funds for the stewardship of the cherry trees in Delaware Park. The Hoopathon brings our community together and strengthens our circle of good neighbors.  Come, grow with us as we expect this will be the best year yet!
