Additional Information

Community Missions' Walk for Niagara aims to raise awareness and funds for Niagara County’s underserved populations.

Check in begins at 10:30 am with the walk following shortly after at 11:15 am. The event also includes a 50/50 raffle, top prizes, runner-up prizes for anyone who raises over $100, and a light picnic lunch. Around 200 walkers are expected to attend.

Walkers are asked to collect pledges and donations in support of their participation. This year there are three ways to walk: as an individual (must collect a minimum of $20), as a student team (must collect a minimum of $100), or as a business team (must collect a minimum of $250). Teams are required to have at least five walkers.

Proceeds from the walk will benefit the Missions’ Crisis Services Programs, which include the community soup kitchen, food pantry, clothes closet, and emergency housing. In 2013, Community Missions provided over 75,000 meals and over 10,000 nights of shelter to those in need throughout Niagara County. In addition, the agency provides support services and residential help to over 1,000 individuals with mental illness.

To register yourself or team, please contact Andrea Gray at 716.285.3403 ext. 2225 or agray@communitymissions.org. Event information and pledge sheets are also available online at www.communitymissions.org.

In addition to walking, sponsorship opportunities are available and a great way to market your business while supporting a great cause. If interested in becoming an event sponsor or donating a prize, please contact Andrea Gray.

Teams are encouraged to dress to impress and don’t forget … pets on leashes are welcome!
