I found this piece of show prep to be pretty interesting.  Here are a few facts about popular inventions that you may not have known.  For instance, Bagpipes....they weren't made in Scotland (sorry Scots).  They were actually invented in Persia.  It was a Middle Eastern instrument comprised of reeds jammed into a goatskin bag!

How about another one......

High 5's didn't exist until 1977-  Yep, its true!  It is said that High 5's began in baseball when Dusty Baker reached up to slap a teammate's hand.  The guy's hands just happened to be up in the air after a big play and Dusty decided to give it a slap.

Play-Doh was originally designed as a wallpaper cleaner.

Good Ol' Issac Newton invented the doggy door!  It actually started out as "cat flaps."  Newton had two cats and he wanted to make it more convenient for them to go in and out as they pleased.

The Rubik's cube was not intended to be a toy!  Erno Rubik created the cube as a study tool for his students.  The actual purpose of the cube was to solve the structural problem of moving the parts independently without the whole thing falling apart.

Michael Jackson did not invent the moonwalk.  It was actually developed by a guy named Bill Bailey!
