The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp, and the smell of pumpkin is in the air!  I love this time of year!  There are so many events around town too that are definite must see for your weekend!

First event on my list is this entire weekend down in Ellicottville.  Head down there for their Fall Festival!  The Festival runs all weekend and they have events all over town for this event.  You’ll find events at Holiday Valley the ski resort down there (which is beautiful no matter what season it is) and around the village of Ellicottville!  All weekend long you’ll have the chance to take chairlift rides, listen to some amazing live music, check out lots of fantastic arts and crafts, participate in a 5k run or the mountain bike race, and taste some incredible food!  Don’t worry about the kids because they even has kiddie rides for them!  This is definitely a festival you’ll want to make time for this year.  It’s Ellicottville’s Fall Festival this weekend!

Today and every Saturday night in Lewiston you can take part if the Marble Orchard Ghost Walks.  This event is for the ghost lover in each of us!  During the walk you’ll be able to step back in time with their costumed guides that will take you on a walk to explore the grim and ghastly deeds of Lewiston’s secret tales!  This will seriously make your skin crawl as they tell you all of the local ghost stories and tales of tragedy, crime and murder that has happened in Lewiston.  Even though most of the tales the guide tells you happened years ago most of the ghosts in the stories still haunt Lewiston so keep an eye out for them!!  I’ve tried this walk and I have to say I was on the edge listening to their stories.  Even if you don’t see a ghost it’s a fun filled adventure where you’ll get to learn about Lewiston’s rough and tumble frontier past.  The event happens rain or shine tonight and every Saturday night from 7 to 9pm.  The walk will begin in the courtyard.

Also this weekend head out to Letchworth State Park in Castile for their annual Arts and Crafts Show!  I must say this is one of my favorite arts and crafts shows that I attend every year.  My family goes up to the camping and I get to spend the weekend wandering through booths after booths of homemade arts and crafts!  This show is huge featuring over 300 artist and crafters, live entertainment, and some amazing food!   You can even get all of your Christmas shopping down now!   Even better they have free shuttle buses that even offer curbside pickup for your heavy purchases!  It’s Food, Fun and Fall Foliage at the Grand Canyon of the East!  I’ll look for you out at this one!  The Letchworth Arts and Crafts Show runs today till Monday.

Another fun filled event you can check out this weekend is the Great Pumpkin Farm Pumpkin Olympics.  This event is a lot of fun to check out.  They will have tons of events for you see including the Pumpkin Relay, Pumpkin guts, a skeleton hunt and more.  The best part about this weekend is the Pumpkin Drop.  If you have never seen the pumpkin drop you have to this year!  It will happen on Monday for Columbus day and what they do is drop this 1000lb pumpkin from 100 feet in the air.  You’ll watch as it smashes into pieces.  Really cool!   Along with that they will offer everything that usually offer during the fall family festival like the hayrides, corn maze, and live entertainment.  Of course while you’re out there don’t forget to check out their zillions of pumpkins they have!  I’m sure you’ll find the perfect one to carve this Halloween!  The Great Pumpkin Farm is located on Main Street in Clarence.
