Fall is such a fantastic time of the year!  The leaves are changing colors, the smell of apple cider is in the air, and the autumn air is crisp.  Definitely my favorite time!  With this time of the year rolls in the fall festivities!  Take time this weekend to enjoy the fall!

This weekend is another great event at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence.  It’s the World Pumpkin Weight Off!  The event runs all weekend long.  This weekend you’ll have the chance to see pumpkins and I’m not talking about the normal size pumpkins you use for Halloween either.   I’m talking about pumpkins that can weight 1500lbs or more!  See each one as they weigh in and see if maybe this year a world record will be set with one of the pumpkins!  I can’t ever believe that people can grow pumpkins that big!  Seriously I’m lucky if I have one turn out nice and these ones at the Farm are huge!  Once you’ve seen the ridiculously large pumpkins make sure you spend some time with the other fun activities going on this weekend at the Great Pumpkin Farm.  Venture over to the Boo Barn, take a spin on some of the amusement park rides, get lost for an hour or two in their Corn Maze, and even shoot a couple pumpkins off in the pumpkin cannon.  Oh and don’t forget to pick up that perfect pumpkin for your Jack-O-Lantern this year.  They have zillions for you to choose from even!  It’s all this weekend and till the end of October at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence.

Head today to Springville for their Oktoberfest and German Car and Motorcycle Show!  Since I am German this one definitely sparked my interest when I read it but whether you’re German or not make sure you check out this even!  The event runs all day today till 10pm at Fireman’s Park.  Of course there will be some amazing live entertainment!  The Springville Jazz Orchestra is going to kick it off first from 3 to 6pm.  Following that they have the Frankfurters from 6p to 10p.  Trust me you will be up dancing the entire night!  Along with that you can’t forget about the German Beer and of course some amazing authentic German food!  Definitely come to this event with an empty stomach!  Finally finish off the evening in Springville with their fantastic contest like Hotdog eating, yodeling, and best Costume.  Yes you read that right there is a Yodeling Contest!!!  It’s all today in Springville their Oktoberfest and German Car and Motorcycle Show!

Another great family event that you’ll want to check out today is Paws in the Park Walk all to fundraise money for the SPCA serving Erie County.  I’m a big animal lover so this one was a definite must!  Everyone young and old is invited out to this event at Beaver Island State Park today and of course bring along your dog if you would like!  It’s a two mile walk that will raise funds for the SPCA serving Erie County.  The whole day they have lots of events as well like K-9 demonstrations by the Cheektowaga Police Department, lunch for the participants, and even inflatable bounce houses.  My favorite part when I read about the event is the contest.  There will be judged dog tricks, dog costumes, dog-owner look alike, an agility course for dogs, and the waggiest tail contest!  How much cuter can the day get!  The day is packed with fun for every minute so head out early today to Beaver Island State Park for the Paws in the Park Fundraising Walk.

Also another great event this weekend is happening in Kendall.  Don’t laugh when I say this but its National Alpaca Farm Days this weekend!  Seriously how many times in your life will you get the chance to be up close and personal with an Alpaca.  Come celebrate the weekend at Sandy Creek Alpacas in Kendall with their Alpacas!  Spend the day with a meet and feed with the Alpacas, learn everything you’d need to know about Alpacas, and then hear all about why these guys love raising the Alpacas!  Make sure you stick around for the rest of the day too and join in on their Alpaca country Trail as they take a 30 Mile Alpaca Adventure!  Yes I know what you’re thinking and no you can never get enough of Alpacas so hurry out this weekend for the National Alpaca Farm Days in Kendall!
