Recently, videos have popped up across the Internet and on YouTube teaching others how to build a homemade device that can hack hotel locks

Some of the better criminals can access a locked hotel room in under 5 seconds. Make sure that when you are in the hotel room, you use the deadbolt and that when you leave you either use the safe that they have in the room (if there is one) or  take valuables with you. Many times when people are on vacation they tend to get careless with their things and become victims of theft.

The article also explained that many hotel chains such as Holiday Inns are working on improving or changing the locks on their guest room doors.
