He's been pedaling a bike across the country since June 2nd from Oregon on the Pacific coast headed to Virginia on the Atlantic cost.  He's doing it for charity in the Trans-Am Bike Race and he hopes to reach the finish line very soon.

Jay Blanchard is looking to raise awareness and money for the American Widow Project, an organization that provides the kind of help military widows and their families need after the tragedy of losing a loved one.  When his trip is complete he will have ridden more than 4,200 miles across ten states.  Along the way he's been battling extreme weather conditions, fatigue and pain.

Jay is a financial advisor with the Financial Guys in Williamsville and had been hoping to ride 100 to 250 miles a day and his original estimate was that the trip would take him 25 days to complete.  But he was forced to deal with incredibly volatile weather including snow and sleet in the mountains, a tornado in Kansas and heat and humidity in the plains.

In his latest YouTube video Jay gives his thoughts as he looks forward to the finish line.
