Flight 3407 Families Come Home From D.C. With Good News
It was a tough day in Western New York yesterday (February 12). Yesterday marked the fourth anniversary of the crash of Flight 3407 in Clarence Center, and on the anniversary, many family members of those lost headed to the capital to push the FAA and Congress to set in new airline safety regulations. Fortunately, they received good news
About 50 relatives traveled to Washington, DC to lobby Congress and the FAA to speed enforcement of new airline safety regulations, including new pilot training rules.
The good news is that Congress spoke to the FAA, and they have assured the families that they are on target to meet the August deadline for pilot certification and the October deadline for crew member training. Senator Schumer promised last night these laws WILL be in effect by the end of the year.
