Flyers Beat The Sabres Again To Take Series Lead

The Philadelphia Flyers sent the sellout Buffalo crowd and 5-thousand fans outside back home disappointed after dealing the Sabres a 4 to 2 defeat Monday night to take a 2 to 1 lead in their best of seven playoff series. Patrick Kaleta took an early penalty and the Flyers connected with a power play goal to take the lead. The Sabres responded with a power play goal of their own when Drew Stafford found the net, but the key to the Flyers win was forcing the Sabres into some defensive mistakes in the second period. Chris Butler was stripped of the puck behind the net and Daniel Briere connected on an easy goal and a short time later. Later the Flyers connected on a three-way passing play for another easy goal for a 3-1 lead. Nathan Gerbe scored before the end of the second period to close to within a goal, but an empty netter in the final minute gave the Flyers a 4-2 win.
Gerbe says they have to do a better job protecting the puck
