Foods That Are Like Eating A Stick of Butter
Came across a list of foods the title says have more fat than a stick of butter. Couldn’t resist checking that out. A stick of butter has 92 grams of fat – much more than the recommended 44 to 78 grams maximum. But every day people are choosing foods that are much, much higher than that. We all have intentions of eating well, but fast food places are so tempting and they make it so easy to just pull in – and you don’t even have to get out of your car. Here's are the foods to avoid -
Fried Fish
The word fried should be a signal. Many people think simply because they’re eating fish it’s a good thing, but the way it’s prepared is another thing. Beer battered is probably the worst way to each fish.
Fried Chicken
Chicken – another good food, but again the way it’s prepared is the key. So often fried chicken is what sounds and looks so tempting, but you’re paying for it in grams of fat. I have to confess I love KFC – but I limit it to just once a year.
Salads
Watch out for salads with all the fixin’s – bacon, fried chicken, croutons, cheese, creamy dressings. Salad is good, but watch the extras.
Quesadillas
Think of all the things that go into a quesadilla to make it so good – cheese, sour cream, sometimes with fried – there’s that word again – fried chicken. And what’s interesting is that quesadillas are often painted in butter to get it to look so good when it’s served.
Big Burgers
Burgers – especially the hefty-size ones with bacon, cheese and mayo. It’s like eating a stick of butter.
