I was very lucky in High School.  I grew up in a football town with a good program that taught football and discipline went hand in hand.  Which is why it stinks so much to see so many cheap/dirty football players being spotlighted lately.

Truthfully, I don't think there are more dirty players these days but there are more opportunities to catch them in the act now.  With cell phone cameras everywhere, it doesn't surprise me to see stuff like this happening.

The game involved 2 New Jersey teams.  During the game, a player from Linden High School took a helmet off an Immaculata High player and then hit the player in the head with the helmet.

Linden Schools Superintendent Danny A. Robertozzi issued the following statement regarding the matter:

"The Linden Public School District is aware of the incident. An investigation by administration is taking place and disciplinary consequences will be issued accordingly. Due to student confidentiality, no further comments will be released. The Linden Public School District is taking this very seriously and by no means is this incident a reflection of our school community or athletic teams."
