It was a sad day for staffers at WGRZ-TV Channel 2 in Buffalo when news anchor Scott Levin left the station after the May sweeps to return to the auto industry where he had worked before a career in broadcasting came calling.  Levin had been working as Channel 2's lead anchor since 1998 when back in March he announced that it was time for him to retire from the daily grind of his job and to be able to have breakfast with his children.

After just two months Levin has had a change of heart and says he's returning to Channel 2 to again anchor the 5 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm news.  He says the recent tornadoes that tore thru Hamburg, Orchard Park and Holland and especially causing heavy damage at the Erie County Fairgrounds made him realize that his heart was in news, especially breaking news.

Scott Levin posted this announcement on Facebook on Thursday morning.
