French Connection Statue To Be Erected In Front Of The FNC!

On Thursday, the Buffalo Sabres announced that they will erect a bronze statue in front of the First Niagara Center that will honor the French Connection.  For those of you too young to remember who the French Connection is…..Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin & Rene Robert.  Those 3 guys played... together from 1972-1979. The French Connection 10-foot statue is set to be unveiled on October 12^th…one day before the Sabres home opener!  And that’s not all…..There are also plans to put up plaques of all 401 Sabres in team history in what will be called “Alumni Plaza.”  One element that I don’t agree with/ like is that the Sabres are allowing people to purchase plaque space for their names.  100 bucks and you can be on the wall with the Sabres.  Kinda cheapens the plaques, don’t ya think??
