It doesn't look like we will be seeing snow this year on Christmas.  But for those of you who are upset about that, we might have something else to look forward to on Christmas Day...and it hasn't happened since 1977.

It's a full moon.  According to ChristianTimes.com, there have only been a handful of Christmas Full moons recorded in American history in the 19th century in 1806, 1825 and 1863 - and in the 20th Century - 1901, 1920 and 1977.

The first Christmas full moon was recorded in 1776 on that night that George Washington and his troops crossed the icy Delaware River from Pennsylvania to Trenton, New Jersey in order to launch a surprise attack on Hessians who were fighting for the British government.

Washington luckily had clouds to cover that moon so he could pass through the darkness on his mission.
