Fun Activities Around WNY!
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend!
I’m sure everyone will be out celebrating this weekend! If you’re thinking about attending the parade make sure you bundle up it does look like it’s going to be cold out there. Parade runs along Delaware from Niagara Square to North. For me it’s a little too cold out to stand outside for a parade so I’ll be celebrating by wearing green indoors. If you’re like me here’s a few activities around town you might want to check out.
Today at the Hamburg Fairgrounds in the Showplex is EquiFest 2014. Don’t think just because it’s about horses that this certainly cannot be fun and exciting because you never know what could happen at one of these events! You’ll get your horse fix at this event. Opening ceremonies will kick off at 930am tomorrow. All day there will be free (Yes can you believe it’s FREE!!) family friendly equine expositions. Spend the day with the horses at EquiFest 2014.
Then on Wednesday I’m definitely checking this event out! It’s called Buffalo Bites Food Tours. If you are a foodie or just love Buffalo Food you are not going to want to miss this event! You’ll embark on a 3 hour guided walking tour of the Elmwood Village where you will eat some amazingly tasty samples from local eateries. While you are there you will be able to explore the city as well and see some of the fabulous architecture, history, and present day beauty of the neighborhood. All food tastings, which is enough for lunch, are included in the ticket. Tickets are $44 and can be purchased on the website – www.buffalobitesfoodtours.com.
Finally if you’re trying something new this year and maybe throw in a little exercise into it why not check out Yoga at the Gardens. I’m definitely trying this one out. I’m not any good at Yoga but I figure it’ll be beautiful and peaceful surrounded by the Gardens. This event takes place at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. The event kicks off on Wednesday and runs every Wednesday till May 7th. This Yoga is designed for all ages and fitness levels so if you’re like me and can’t balance at all no worries! Check out the website www.buffalogardens.com for more information.
