The next time you find yourself nominated for something, don't be bashful about voting for yourself, because the iconic George Strait has done it! He admits he cast a vote for himself to win at the 2013 CMA Awards.

The King of Country is nominated for Entertainer of the Year for the first time since 2009. He's up against a cast of talented singers, including Jason AldeanLuke BryanBlake Shelton and Taylor Swift, and with that caliber of artists, every vote really does count -- including your own.

“Of course I voted for myself,” Strait admits, according to the Tennessean. “I always vote for myself. I think everybody does. Why wouldn’t they?”

Although he's already forever a legend in country music, Strait calls his nomination for Entertainer of the Year “such an honor," saying "we had a really great year."

“Any time you get nominated for something like Entertainer of the Year, which is the award of the night, it’s very very special,” he shares, admitting he's even nervous. “I’m excited about it."

For Strait to win Entertainer of the Year just months before the 2014 Cowboy Rides Away Tour, which is his final run, would be a hugely memorable experience for the 61-year-old. And maybe, just maybe, Strait's vote will help him end up on top at the 2013 CMA Awards, airing at 8PM ET Wednesday (Nov. 6) on ABC.
