We all have to get ourselves from here to there  and the cost of doing so is on the rise.  Metro Bus And Rail are giving us notice of fare increases that will take effect on May 1.  Cash fares will go from $1.75 to $2 for adults.  Children under 12 and seniors will go from 75 cents to $1.  Day passes which are currently $4 will increase to $5.  Reduced fare day passes are going from $2 to $2.50.  Monthly full fare passes are now $64 but will soon be $75.  The reduced fare version is now $32 but soon will rise to $37.50.  There will be no more free transfers between bus and rail.  Tokens are being devalued.  They were formally worth the price of 1 fare or $1.75.  On May 1 they will only be worth $1.  For complete details, click here.

I guess compared to the rising cost of driving, all we can do is shrug our shoulders and or complain.  And we all know where that gets us.  If only our wages kept up with the cost of living, huh?
