It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week.  This week, our Hometown Hero from Hamburg, NY serves in the United States Coast Guard.  It’s Paul Bigaj!

Paul Bigaj (pronounced beeguy) is a 2008 graduate of Saint Francis High School.  He also attended Paul Smiths College up in the Adirondacks, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Fisheries Biology and Management. He then received a certification in Global Information Systems.  Paul was hired in New Mexico as a Fisheries Technician, working out there for two years and made the decision to join the Coast Guard. In January 2016 he went to boot camp at the United States Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, New Jersey. Paul graduated on March 18, 2016 as Fireman Bigaj. He is currently stationed in Wisconsin.

This week, we are grateful to have people like Paul on our team fighting for our country.  This week, we are proud to name him our Hometown Hero of the week!

If you would like to see a picture of Paul, get to WYRK.com!  While you’re there, nominate your own Hometown Hero. We like to honor both active duty and veteran heroes from right here in Western New York.

Thanks once again to Paul Bigaj from the United States Coast Guard, our Hometown Hero of the week!
