Earlier in the week Denny Hamlin tweeted “We will win” and he backed it up with a dominating victory at New Hampshire in the second race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

That was despite qualifying 32nd because his crew put the wrong air pressure in his tires. Pretty frustrating because he had the fastest car in both practice sessions. Didn’t matter though. After 94 laps Hamlin had driven thru the field and into the lead. It’s his fifth win this season and he moves up to third in the Chase standings.

Jimmie Johnson finished second for the second week in a row and he takes over the Chase lead, one point up on Brad Keselowski who finished sixth.

Jeff Gordon came in third, but after that awful showing last week at Chicago, he’s 45 points out of the lead.

Clint Bowyer and Kasey Kahne completed the Top 5.

Next up on the schedule is Dover, Delaware and the Monster Mile for Race Three in the Chase for the Spring Cup Championship.
