It's been awhile since we've heard Hank Williams Jr. opening up Monday Night Football.  But Hank is getting ready to head back to the grid iron.

Over the past couple years, Monday Night Football has seemed to lose some steam and the directors of the show are hoping to get back to having a party on Monday nights.

“It was the original," Druley told The USA TODAY NETWORK-Tennessee. "It belongs to Monday Night Football. It really is about returning to what fans know. It’s a Monday night party and that’s what we’re all hoping to get back to.”

Hank held down the opening spot on MNF for two decades before some controversial statements by the singer about Barack Obama forced the producers of the show to go in a different direction.
