In the past 20 years, the deer population is Western New York has exploded. In the Town of Amherst where I live, this overabundance of deer has been quite noticeable. You can drive down any road in Amherst and there's a good chance you will see a deer no matter what time of the day it is. Once in a while you may even see a white deer or a partially white deer. The partially white deer are known as piebald deer. I have seen three different piebald deer within a two mile radius of my house. These particular deer have large patches of white mixing in with their normal brown coloring. They are also often mistaken for Albino deer which they are not. Albino deer are completely white in color and may or may not have pink eyes.
