If you love to play basketball and you want to help out a great cause right here in Western New York, this might be right up your alley.  It's the Hoops For Hope event.

Hoops For Hope is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament that will take place at UB's South Campus to benefit Crisis Services.

The tourney is sponsored by the UB Men's Group and is open to both men and women (17+).  It's $10 per player and the proceeds will go to the advocate program through Crisis Services to help victims of domestic violence and sexual violence in Erie County.

The rules are as follows:

• Game is to 15 – straight (meaning that first team who scores a total of 15 points wins), half court
• Make it, take it
• Make your own calls - Call your own fouls, out of bounds, etc.
• When you call a foul, no free throws will be taken; you will retain possession of the ball
• Double elimination format
• Each team is allowed 1 sub
