I remember when I first moved to Buffalo twelve years ago how exciting New Year’s Eve was because of all the options of where to celebrate.  Whether it’s the city ball drop, the bars on Chippewa or a big house party there are so many ways to spend New Year’s Eve.  As I get older it’s funny how the proceeding sounds daunting to me.  It’s been at least five years since I’ve gone out on New Year’s Eve, I just don’t have it in me anymore. The sound of standing outside in the cold and snow or fighting my way to a bar to get a drink sounds horrible.  I’d much rather spend the night under a blanket in my house or have a small dinner with family and friends which is what I plan for tonight.  Yes I know it’s another sign that I’m getting older, but I have to say it’s one I embrace.
