Thinking about getting a dog? There are so many choices. In fact, there are 170 different breeds to choose from if you are going the pure-bred route. Then again, you could always opt for a mixed breed dog.

Sometimes, a mixed breed is preferred because you can get the best of both breeds in one dog. When I was a kid, my first dog was a Fox terrier and Collie mix. He was a great watchdog. One time a neighborhood kid came to my house to punch me out and as the punk drew his arm back to punch me in the face, my dog reacted and bit him in the leg causing my assailant to fall backwards and hit his head on my driveway.
