[Getty Images][/caption]After more than three weeks on the run the lone remaining escaped convict from the Clinton Correctional Facility was captured in northern New York in the small town of Constable, about a mile and a half from the Canadian border.

David Sweat was being treated at a hospital in Malone, New York, after he was shot and wounded by state police. Initial reports were that Sweat was bleeding badly from his wound and would be airlifted to a trauma center in Albany.

The capture of Sweat came two days after Richard Matt was shot and killed by police, 16 miles away.  The two convicted murders escaped from the maximum security prison in Dannemora, New York in the early morning hours of June 6th.

Somehow they had eluded searchers until a break in the case came last week when there was evidence the two had broken into hunting cabins deep in the wilderness of Adirondack State Park.
