It’s official: Hunter Hayes‘ hit song ‘Wanted’ has sold more than 2 million copies, making it double-Platinum. Looks like it’s going to be a good year for Mr. Hayes!

In addition to his new metal status, Hayes recently found out — while playing the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville — that his self-titled debut album has achieved Gold status. According to Atlantic, Hayes’ record label, the 21-year-old country crooner was surprised to have Warner Brothers present him with the certified plaque to celebrate his first album selling more than 500,000 copies.

As if selling millions of albums and singles isn’t enough, Hayes has recently been nominated for some major awards. The ‘Somebody’s Heartbreak’ singer is up for the New Male Vocalist trophy at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Plus, he’s received Grammy nods for Best New Artist, Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance for ‘Wanted.’

Hoping to clinch the ACM for New Male Vocalist, Hayes launched a campaign to get his Hayniacs to cast their vote in his James Bond-themed ‘One Vote Is Not Enough’ video. Channeling his inner Bond, Hayes is seen cruising in a fancy black car, clad in Bond’s signature tuxedo and bowtie. It’s hard to see his face in the clip, but the message is obvious: One vote isn’t enough. So cast your ballot in his favor!

It looks like 2013 will be just as successful — or maybe even more successful — than 2012 was for the country newcomer. This summer, the young star-in-training will appear at the inaugural Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter Mountain, N.Y. Scheduled for June 13-15, the fun music and camping event will also feature appearances by Lady Antebellum and Willie Nelson.
